Property Lead - Historic Hayes and Ophir Post OfficeHeritage New Zealand is seeking a Property Lead to manage two of its historic properties, the Hayes Engineering Works and Homestead, and the Ophir Post Office. These sites are significant cultural attractions in Central Otago, telling the stories of industry and innovation.About the RoleThe Property Lead will be responsible for leading a small team in daily operations, including welcoming visitors, hosting groups, coordinating retail and café operations, organising events, and liaising with partners and stakeholders. The role also involves budget management, property maintenance, and health and safety compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead a small team in managing daily operations at the Hayes Engineering Works and Homestead, and the Ophir Post OfficeWelcome visitors and host groups, providing an exceptional experienceCoordinate retail and café operations, ensuring a high-quality offeringOrganise events and activities that promote the properties and engage audiencesLiaise with partners and stakeholders to build relationships and advance the properties' interestsManage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring financial sustainabilityMaintain the properties' condition, ensuring they remain safe and accessibleRequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will need:Proven business management experience, preferably in a tourism or hospitality contextEffective team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire othersA passion for heritage and conservation, with a commitment to preserving our cultural treasuresExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholdersA collaborative approach, working closely with colleagues and partners to achieve shared goalsWhat We OfferWe offer a competitive salary range of $69,886 - $82,219, depending on experience, as well as:A dynamic and supportive work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and developmentA chance to make a meaningful contribution to the preservation of New Zealand's cultural heritageA comprehensive benefits package, including training and professional development opportunitiesIf you are passionate about heritage and conservation, and have the skills and experience required to succeed in this role, we encourage you to apply.
