Our client is looking for a practical hands-on person with excellent organisation and communication skills.
You will be able to follow instructions well, use your own initiative, work unsupervised most of the time, and also be able to work in a team environment.
Have a passion for the outdoors, working on a 315ha Northland coastal property with 2ha of gardens where the owners value their privacy.
Duties include but are not limited to: Maintenance and development of an Exotic garden Property, garden, house, and lawn maintenance Planting native trees, tending to trees and shrubs Weed control and spraying (especially around lawn edges) Pruning, clearing fallen trees, and mulching General cleaning of tools and machinery maintenance Keeping the property in a park-like condition at all times Weed control and general maintenance on the greater farm Successful applicants need to: Be physically fit and have plenty of energy, enthusiasm, loyalty, and commitment Have a background in gardening, farming, horticulture, or conservation Be experienced with operating quad bikes, tractors, and other farm equipment Able to work on steep terrain when required Have a 'tidy eye' and work with a high level of attention to detail Have a high standard of health & safety Have a good knowledge of ornamental and exotic plants General knowledge of native plants and fruit trees Have initiative and common sense Be a good team worker and be able to work unsupervised Have a full car licence and gun licence Be able to use a chainsaw safely and preferably have a ticket Must be able to pass a drugs test Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.
This role is 45 hours per week.
Days are Monday to Friday with some flexibility to work weekends.
You will be required to work over the Christmas period (excluding STATs).
Start date is as soon as possible.
