Job Description
The Project
The Eastern Busway is a significant project that is about more than just better transport. It will increase access to jobs and education, connect people to social and community opportunities, attract investment and growth, enable urban development, and help reduce emissions.
Its efficient services will give nearby communities some great options for cycling, walking or using the bus, and it will be a vital part of the public transport network in Tamaki Makaurau for decades to come.
The Opportunity
The Project Surveyor reports to the Survey Manager and supports the survey team to maintain the Alliance's geospatial information, this involves data verification, data set out, survey as built and outputting info into software systems.
Key Accountabilities for the position will be:
Effectively provide survey services to the project including common field set out / as-constructed / conformance surveys as well as office checks and calculations.
Provide timely and accurate survey data, set out and as built information.
Efficient 12d Model user with the ability to convey information in a variety of formats.
Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with site foreman and engineers on all matters relating to the construction activities.
Required Skills and Competencies
Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Spatial Science and/or Geometrics.
Minimum 3 years previous experience in surveying ideally on a Large Infrastructure project (not essential).
Demonstrated experience in survey methodology, civil construction & paving methodology.
Experienced in providing the accurate quality assurance of survey data including maintenance and checking of survey equipment.
Understanding of survey methodology, civil construction & paving methodology.
The ability to operate a range of surveying equipment including GNSS GPS, robotic total stations and survey and design software.
Hold a minimum Class 1 Full driver's licence.
