Project Planning & Quality Team Leader

Details of the offer

Are you an inquisitive, solution & people focused leader?

Are you adaptable, reliable and organised?

Are you experienced in Project Management and/or Technical Administration and looking for your next challenge?

Waimakariri District is one of the fastest growing Districts in New Zealand and the third largest, by population, in the South Island. This brings with it abundant challenges across a diverse range of areas. We promise to be professional, approachable and solutions-focused when providing for our community.

The Waimakariri District Council are looking for a new Project Planning & Quality Team Leader with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of issues and enable a customer-focused environment. The successful applicant will report to the Project Delivery Manager and lead a team of three Technical Administrators, who work closely with the Development Team (subdivisions) but also the wider Utilities & Roading department and a number of other Teams throughout the Council.

In this leadership role, you will provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to your team, provide technical support and guidance, lead by example through the delivery of a customer-focused service, and deliver and oversee a wide range of your own complex projects which will require you to draw on previous Project Management and local government experience (desirable).

To be successful in this position, you will need to be adaptable with a solutions-focused attitude. The role will require you to effectively lead the team while acting as Project Manager and providing Technical Administrative Support for a wide range of projects. Processes associated with administering Development Contributions are critical to this role.

The successful candidate needs to be confident in learning how to assess development contributions under the Council's Policy and be capable of undertaking the annual policy and schedule review. This requires a high degree of attention to detail, and although prior experience is advantageous, everything can be taught to the right person.

Applicants will be highly motivated team players who are well organised and committed to providing excellent service and quality results. In recognition of this, a very competitive salary is offered. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional.

The Council offers a challenging work environment where you really make a difference. Only 20 minutes north of Christchurch, Waimakariri District offers small town and rural lifestyles with a range of outdoor recreation activities on your doorstep but with the advantages of a big city nearby. Whatever your choice of living environment, it is readily available and affordable.

If you have the appropriate skills, experience, and attitude to fulfil the requirements of this position, and you want to be on our team, then get in touch because we want to hear from you!
