$110 - $120K per annum + Ra Oranga wellness days 18-month fixed term position starting in Jan 2025 Manage exciting transformational projects Be part of a collaborative team making a tangible impact Te Kauniera o Wakatu | Nelson City Council, is on a journey to transform into a more flexible and adaptive organisation to better meet the needs of our community.
To support making this vision a reality, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented project manager to join our newly formed Transformation team on a fixed term basis.
About the role | Ko tenei turanga mahi As Project Manager Transformation, you will oversee critical organisational change projects aimed at enhancing Council operations and services.
You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include: Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of transformation projects, ensuring alignment with Council's strategic goals Managing project teams, stakeholders, and resources effectively to achieve project objectives Facilitating stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycle Utilising project management methodologies to monitor and report on project progress and outcomes Identifying risks and implementing appropriate mitigation measures to ensure successful project delivery About you | Ko nga pumanawa o The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience in project management, ideally in leading large-scale transformation projects within a public sector environment Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams through complex change initiatives Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders Sound understanding of project management methodologies and tools, with relevant qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) being advantageous A results-driven approach with a focus on achieving objectives and delivering value A passion for driving positive change within the community What we offer | Ko nga painga mou As part of Te Kauniera o Wakatu | Nelson City Council, you will work within a small collaborative team with a focus on innovation and improvement.
