The role As the Project Manager/Team Leader within the PMO, you'll bring your strong project management skills to work closely with scientists to recommend and establish best practice project management methodology and tools, providing advice and direction across the full suite of project management functions.
You will also take on people leadership responsibilities, providing mentoring and guidance to a team of project management professionals. You'll work with the PMO Manager to foster a collaborative culture and maintain a high-performance team environment.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Lead and manage your direct reports to support the delivery of science within GNS. Provide coaching and mentoring to your direct reports to enhance project management capability, foster growth and support the PMO effectiveness. Work closely with the PMO Manager encouraging PMO team collaboration and a high-performance team culture. Apply strong project management knowledge and skills to support Science Leads in the delivery of research projects. Monitor and control all aspects of projects through the full project lifecycle, providing recommendations to the Science Lead as appropriate. About you The ideal candidate will have:
Proven people management and leadership experience. Minimum five years' experience in a project management role with a sound and strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. A great work ethic, the right mindset, and an appetite for success. This is a permanent, full time (38 hours per week) role and is based at our campus in Avalon, Lower Hutt.
The salary range for this position is between $143,955 to $159,950 per annum depending on the successful candidate's experience.
