Project Manager – Road Safety Promotion

Details of the offer

About Us
The Northland Transportation Alliance (NTA) is a partnering of the four Northland Council's roading and transport departments, combining and co-locating the individual council staff and resources in collaboration with Waka Kotahi (NZTA). The NTA plans, designs, builds, operates and maintains an integrated transport system. Our teams keep the Northland transport system operational and optimised to meet the needs of all Northlanders, and ultimately all New Zealanders. We are extremely passionate about what we do, and our employees are critical to our success, no matter what the role. We are committed to working with our stakeholders to achieve our vision of "collectively creating better, safer and more accessible journeys across Northland". The holder of this role will be employed by Northland Regional Council and will be based in Whangarei.
About the Role
Are you passionate about getting people out of cars and into walking, cycling, or catching a bus to their school or workplace? Do you want to influence how people travel safely in Northland? This is an incredibly varied role where you will have the opportunity to partner and collaborate with a number of organisations, community groups, and our in-house road safety engineering staff in Northland to drive behaviour change to enable safety on our roads for all users.
There will be opportunities for you to create, shape, and influence the direction of travel behaviour programmes in Northland by gathering insights that share the stories of success and struggles of our road users. You will contribute to our programme of reducing kilometres travelled and carbon emissions. Collaboration and co-design are the approaches you'll look to offer, to ensure we are enabling safer journeys for both current and future generations.
About You
We are looking for someone who can bring creative thinking and great storytelling. You will have excellent communication skills and wonderful listening skills. Your love for building relationships and working alongside communities will see you facilitate, co-design and deliver tailored road safety resources and travel options, through active participation and partnership – setting you up for success. Ideally, we are looking for someone with 5 years + relevant experience in either; education, advertising, project management or communications and engagement.
