Fixed-term/Secondment available until June 2025 with possible longer-term extension.Based in Wellington at National Office with regular national travel involved. A full drivers licence is necessary for this position.Nga kawenga | About the role The Department of Corrections has three interconnected organisational outcomes; to improve public safety, reduce reoffending and reduce the overrepresentation of Maori. Our ability to deliver on these outcomes is underpinned by the quality of our facilities and infrastructure – a critical enabler for success.
The Department has done significant work in understanding its current asset base and planning for a safer and more fit-for-purpose network. Extending the new high security facility at Waikeria Prison and redevelopment of CMP have both been identified as the next strategically important sites requiring investment and development.
As Project Manager Process Management, you'll be responsible for taking the lead on managing design documentation submissions and responses, and, working closely with the design team and wider internal stakeholders, manage the workflow between the Department's internal design review team and consultants.
A critical aspect of the role will be building strong working relationships with providers. You'll drive workflow of the design team. You'll need to bring your critical eye and problem solving skills to the role to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved, as you'll be managing and participating in review of PPP generated operational material, keeping contracts up to date, as well as helping to prepare contract documentation.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and negotiate with various stakeholders.Proven ability to analyse and problem solve process issues and develop practical recommendations.Ability to work well under pressure without losing your attention to detail, and experience in managing project documentation and workflows.Experience in working with consultants and sub-consultants and managing these relationships, particularly in a design environment would be advantageous.Demonstrated relevant work experience is required. The midpoint of the salary range is $121,124 and the full range (85%-120%) is $102,956 - $145,349. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
