We also purchase major equipment which becomes a capability when it is used by those in service of the New Zealand Defence Force. Mo te tunga I About the role (and Project) The Cyber Security and Support Capability project (CSSC) is a business change and investment initiative that will work alongside other projects, programmes and initiatives in support of the 2025 Integrated Defence Force Strategy to protect the Defence Force networks, platforms and people and support operations. The CSSC project is focused on delivering the Ministry's first tranche of work, as well as developing future business cases. Reporting to the Integrated Project Leader (IPTL), you will join a high-profile project for Defence in the Information Domain of our Capability Delivery Division. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of project management across a number of workstreams, including scheduling, project reporting, financial forecasting and reporting, and oversight of project management artefacts. You will support the IPTL through all the elements of the capability life cycle. The Ministry supports career and skill development and has a number of internal communities of practise operating to support the delivery of large complex capabilities for the Defence Force, allowing you to contribute across the Capability Delivery division and the wider Ministry. "Capability" in this setting is defined as 'the personnel, equipment, platforms, and/or other material that affect the capacity of New Zealand to undertake military operations." We want to know about the skills and experience you will bring to this role and have listed the role requirements below: A proven track record in delivering large, multi-faceted and complex projects Experience in project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2) and their application Knowledge of Agile delivery principles and methodologies (preferred) Experience in project delivery of technical IT projects Experience in interpreting workstream outcomes into project based delivery plans Great ability to work with senior workstream leads to drive task delivery Risk management and project financial management experience Proven ability to deal with complex, conceptual issues and ability to apply problem solving techniques Great communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple pieces of work Highly motivated, self-driven with a positive attitude Excellent scheduling and Microsoft Project skills Being highly organised and systematic with a high level of attention to detail You don't have to tick every box. Appointment will be based on skills and experience.
