This position is part of the Project Management Office and requires an individual skilled in planning, procurement, design oversight, and successful project execution. You will be responsible for coordinating resources, leading project teams, and managing contractor engagement to deliver on time and to quality standards. Your role will involve clear communication with stakeholders, proactively addressing challenges, and adapting plans to meet evolving project demands.The Project Manager must possess a strong understanding of local government legislation, policies, and procedures, ensuring projects meet regulatory requirements. In addition to technical expertise, you will bring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. The ability to foster collaborative relationships, support continuous improvement, and maintain a customer-centric approach is essential. You will also engage in monitoring project progress, producing comprehensive reports, and contributing to decision-making processes. This role is ideal for a resilient professional who is adaptable, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is committed to enhancing Council's project delivery and community impact.He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bringThe preferred candidate will have:Relevant Qualifications and Experience: A recognised tertiary qualification in a related field or equivalent industry experience, alongside a minimum of 3 years in project management within a complex, multidisciplinary environment. A full NZ Driver's Licence is required.Project Leadership and Expertise: Proven experience in managing the full project lifecycle, from ideation to completion. You'll bring expertise in planning, coordinating resources, and delivering projects that meet strategic objectives.Strategic Planning and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically to develop and execute comprehensive project plans. You'll possess exceptional problem-solving skills, enabling you to manage risks, navigate challenges, and adapt to changing priorities efficiently.Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Commitment to Continuous Improvement: A proactive mindset to refine processes, share learnings, and incorporate feedback to enhance project delivery.If this position sounds like you, click apply now and submit a tailored Cover Letter and CV.
