This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in the food manufacturing sector. You will be part of an experienced and supportive project delivery team which provides comprehensive project management and project engineering services to multiple blue chip clients. TEG has long term relationships with many of New Zealand's largest food and beverage companies and our specialist expertise is in project management and machine safety.
The role suits an engineer having a food manufacturing industry or consulting engineering background and familiarity with plant installation. In particular we are looking for knowledge of project management processes through the project life cycle from project definition studies to detailed design and installation. This knowledge would include an understanding of estimating, planning, cost reporting and change control.
The role is exciting and challenging and exists in a dynamic production environment which will provide exposure to a wide range of processes, equipment and experience. Team work is mandatory, as is proactive communication and persistent leadership is essential. This role would suit an ambitious person who sees this role as an opportunity to develop across multiple projects, industries and clients.
This role will require the successful candidates to:
• Act as the main contact liaison with the client for day to day management of multiple projects
• Be responsible for the cost and schedule performance of individual projects
• Manage priorities and coordinate work of contractors & suppliers in accordance with the project priorities and schedule
• Coordinate the involvement of the appropriate client technical, operations and maintenance personnel in the development and execution of individual projects
• Monitor the technical content and overall quality of engineering deliverables
• Be responsible for producing individual project management deliverables
Successful candidates will have experience in working in a project environment, including scoping and installation phases, and:
• Typically be a tertiary qualified engineer with five years post graduate experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Have experience with brown field projects in complex processing plants
• Be familiar with project management tools and techniques
• Have excellent verbal, written, presentation and communications skills
• Be familiar with preparing cost estimates and capital requests
