Reporting to the Associate Director, PMO, the Project Manager is responsible for successfully implementing global or regional projects.
Job Responsibilities Manages large, cross-functional, complex projects with multiple diverse stakeholders.
Independently leads all phases of a project in accordance with the Apotex project management methodology including Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid approaches.
Responsible for all deliverables required of a project manager as defined by the methodology, including but not limited to Project Charter and handover report.
Working with sponsors, business leads, Service Portfolio Leaders (SPL), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Service Management Office (SMO) teams, facilitates the definition of the project scope, goals, objectives and deliverables with all impacted stakeholders.
Effectively communicates project status to steering committee and/or senior executives.
Independently leads multi-disciplined team of Global Information Services (GIS), business professionals and external vendors/contractors to achieve project objectives.
Manages change through effective communication and teamwork.
Manages project budget by effectively tracking, reporting, and responds to highly complex queries from internal clients with respect to Project and Cost Centre budgeting.
Develops detailed project schedules in collaboration with team members. Self-sufficient in creating and maintaining project schedules which reflect the realistic and unique project attributes and forward-looking evolution of the overall project approach.
Monitors and controls project deliverables ensuring quality as per the Apotex quality standards.
Ensures projects meet stakeholder expectations with respect to quality, delivery timelines, and strategy.
Identifies, documents and mitigates project risks and issues. Consults with SPLs, SMEs and Architects to determine and implement suitable mitigation strategies.
Manages project changes following change request process.
Performs project closing activities including post review sessions/retrospectives, transition to operations, budget closeout, etc.
Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.

Job Requirements Education
University or Community College degree in Information Systems or Business Administration or equivalent business experience.
PMP Certification.
Scrum designation an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Superior knowledge of the key principles of Project Management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid.
Experience in leading and influencing the activities and interaction of project team members and stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize and effectively time manage responsibilities.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to internal and external stakeholders.
Expert-level experience with MS Project or other planning software.
Demonstrated ability to grasp key concepts.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Ability to learn quickly.
Travel between local Apotex sites and global affiliates may be required.
Experience
5-7 years Project Management experience leading large and complex projects, post PMP certification.
5+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical/Process Industry, Consumer Packaged Goods, Information Systems, Project Management and/or Management Consulting Environment preferred.
