Consenting and Compliance (CCC) is the main statutory and regulatory unit of the Wellington City Council. Its core business entails processing and monitoring various types of applications for permissions and inspections in order to ensure the appropriate use of land, the integrity of buildings and to maintain public health and safety. It also includes maintenance of land information, advice to customers on a range of regulatory matters and monitoring compliance with bylaws and legislation.
Au ake mahi | What you'll do.
The purpose of the role is to lead the setting up of a new in-house regulatory service whilst ensuring that the service is competently and efficiently provided in accordance with statutory requirements and Council policies. This role requires a project manager who enjoys being hands-on and heavily involved in the delivery. This is a fixed term opportunity through until March 2025.
You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of this project from procurement of equipment, contract management, people operations, to reporting to senior leaders, managing budgets, mitigating any and all risks and ensuring the timely delivery of the project. You will be supported by the City Consenting and Compliance leadership team and will also get to partner with a range of internal teams including but not limited to Communications, Health and Safety, Property, and HR services.
About you: 5-7 years professional experience in a relevant field with proven project management experience in delivering outcomes.Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Good commercial acumen and an understanding of sound contract and procurement practices.We are looking to appoint between $106,187 - $124,926 per annum, for this role, depending on relevant skills and experience.
