Manage the financial sustainability implementation project. Salary range between $92,450 - 116,985 depending on skills and experience. Fixed term opportunity for 12 months; Wellington location. He angitutanga | About the role The Better for Nature programme underpins the key deliverables of improving our systems and processes, creating efficiencies, as well as building change capability to support our organisation into the future. The programme is all about making our work easier and ensuring we are set up more sustainably for the future, removing unnecessary barriers to conservation delivery and instilling a culture of collaborative, continuous improvement, so that we can continue to protect and restore nature. The programme is now looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead one of the organisation's key projects. Reporting to the Director, Transformation Programme, this newly created Project Manager role will be crucial in leading the implementation of the financial sustainability initiatives. The position will be focused on: developing and managing project management plans and processes to implement the work developing and delivering an approved project brief/plan managing the communication and reporting of the project progress to key stakeholders and governance forums managing project risks and issues, tracking milestones and implementing appropriate mitigation plans managing key dependencies – internal and external ensuring change management, stakeholder engagement and communications are built into the delivery, with supporting plans and activities collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve project outcomes. Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience We are after a credible project manager skilled in navigating a fast-paced and complex environment, with a proven track record of leading projects that promote financial sustainability. You will have a solid grasp of financial metrics and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve cost-saving results for DOC. Your high energy, strong relationship-building, and leadership abilities will be vital in delivering high-quality conservation goals that align with our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. If you have the following, we are keen to hear from you: Certified in Prince2 or Agile (or similar) and adept with a range of project management practices and methodologies. Experienced in running complex projects within a large organisation - experience in establishing similar programmes of work is highly desirable. Strong collaborator and influencer with cross functional stakeholders at all levels Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity and bring a feasible plan together in order to prioritise, delegate and monitor resources Strong financial and commercial acumen – able to make pragmatic decisions to achieve business outcomes Experience working with change management to ensure benefits are realised. Desirable: Experience using a project management tool, ideally MS Project. Excellent skills in the MS Office suite. You will have the maturity and confidence to interact with people from all walks of life and the ability to switch between tasks effortlessly.
