About Us  We are a small construction management company specialising in residential and commercial projects, overseeing the development of new homes and subdivisions in the Greater Wellington Region. With several new projects on the horizon, we are thrilled about our company's growth and the opportunities ahead.
The Role  We are seeking an individual with the right skills and a positive attitude to join our team in residential and commercial construction. This technical position requires strong knowledge and experience in residential and commercial building practices, particularly NZS 3604. 
The role will report directly to the Company Project Manager, and will be provided with a company vehicle and phone.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of projects across WellingtonUpdate the company reporting system and keep the Project Manager and Director informed on job progressReview architectural and engineering drawings for potential issues, coordinating remediation as neededPrepare sites for construction, including conducting safety meetings with tradespeople and managing health and safety documentation via the HazardCo systemMaintain regular communication with sub-contractors and suppliers about work allocation, timelines, and expectationsSchedule jobs according to company requirements and ensure adherence to timelinesEnsure on-site quality control and compliance with Council inspectionsComplete practical completion checklists for finished units, ensuring they meet the highest standards before client handoverManage any identified defectsCompile and submit code of compliance documentationFoster professional relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and consultantsSkills and experience Strong knowledge of NZS 3604 and familiarity with other NZ construction codes and standardsRelevant qualification in building constructionMinimum of 3 years' experience in Site Management or Project Management within the residential construction sector in New ZealandExperience managing construction on multi-unit sites, including terrace houses and apartmentsAbility to oversee projects from foundation to completionExcellent communication and negotiation skills with a diverse workforceCapacity to identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategiesProven ability to build and maintain professional client relationships and manage sub-contractors and directly employed tradespeopleProficient in producing project plans, scheduling, and material procurement (training available if needed)Solid understanding of the Health and Safety Act and ability to implement its requirementsYou must be able to work in NZ legally. Must have NZ drivers licence Application close 23 November 2024, however we will be reviewing CV's as we receive them.
