WFH flexibility | WFH allowance | 4.4 weeks annual leave Salary midpoint of $105,270 with actual salary dependent on experience Project Manager, Cancer Control Agency Te Aho o Te Kahu – The Cancer Control Agency is seeking a dedicated nursing or allied health professional looking to make a strategic difference in improving cancer outcomes. In this role you will be responsible for planning, designing, supporting, and implementing regional and national projects aimed at enhancing equity and cancer survival across the Whanganui, Midcentral, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Hutt Valley, and Wellington regions. This position is based in Wellington with some regional travel required by arrangement. Te whainga poto o tenei turanga – The purpose of this position As a part of our regional team, you will engage in a wide range of ongoing improvement projects throughout the cancer care journey. Additionally, you will be tasked with establishing strong connections with healthcare providers, ensuring effective communication, and influencing changes within the healthcare sector. This role is ideal for a seasoned cancer care professional with a commitment to enhancing quality and seeking advancement in their career. Te Aho o Te Kahu is the national leader and coordinator for cancer control, overseeing the prioritization and coordination of cancer care throughout Aotearoa. In collaboration with a national team in Wellington, there are four regional teams that play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the unique insights and varied needs of regional communities and the development of national strategies. The Central Region encompasses the Whanganui, MidCentral, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Hutt Valley, and Capital and Coast districts. The ideal candidate will be a nursing or allied health professional with (or pursuing) advanced qualifications in health service leadership or public health, and the ability to demonstrate: Skills in project management, including continuous improvement, planning, and the implementation of health sector projects. A deep understanding of the complexities and challenges faced in cancer care within Aotearoa. A solid grasp of cultural practices, knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi, and its application in healthcare planning and delivery. Proficient in both written and spoken communication. Strong analytical and research skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities across various projects. The ability to build and support effective relationships, showcasing strong people skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software. Experience in cancer treatment is highly regarded.
