Project Lead - Data

Database Development & Administration (Information & Communication Technology) We are looking for someone experienced in the data migration and integration space, who has the drive to lead a critical area of a large project underway at Council.  In this brand-new role, the Project Lead - Data will be responsible for the successful delivery of complete and accurate data from our core legacy information systems to the replacement enterprise resource planning & content management system(s). The role will lead data activities such as environmental scanning, investigation, strategies and plans and oversee timelines, and coordination of internal and external stakeholders. The role will also manage project documentation related to data movement activities such as migration and integration. It is a full time, fixed term position for 2 years to align with project delivery timeframes. Remote working options (within New Zealand) may be considered for the right candidate.  To be successful in this role you will be a natural leader with an ability to influence and advise through clear and confident communication, utilising your time management skills to ensure data related activities are planned and in sync with project phases and deliverables. You will lead a small, specialised team and using your previous experience and knowledge, guide them through data tasks and complex situations. This is a vital role within the project that has wide reach and outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders across our community. Therefore, you'll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council's work.  Duties include:  Providing effective management of data-focused project activities from initiation to completion. Devise strategies and plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget, tracking and reporting on project metrics, including budget, schedule, and quality.  Ensure the successful delivery of clean and accurate data from GDC's on premise legacy systems to our replacement systems as part of the Enterprise Solution Project.  Skills and experience required:  A methodical and logical approach to planning and organisation.
