Join our success story and use your skills and knowledge to create excellence in the planning, technical and quality delivery of construction projects, in this newly created role.As a project engineer, you will work closely with our project teams to efficiently meet operational and financial targets including effective:plant and people resourcingliaising with subcontractors and other stakeholdersworking on quality, environmental and safety plansparticipating in group discussions to meet KPI's and targets.Key Responsibilities will include:Providing expert advice in respect to construction methodologies and testing for various types of work, risk and opportunity identification, technical support and programme efficiency.Actively assisting in the preparation and implementation of construction plans and programmes including accountability of outcomes / targets; improvements, recommendations, evaluation and reporting.Understanding the technical specifications for a variety of work types and the engineering concepts which underpin these.Understanding and being fully aware of allowances made during pricing of works.Keeping accurate administration, record collection, analysis and filing, control of documents (including drawings, notices, correspondence, photos, quality records and other).Developing, implementing, and maintaining various management plans (e.g., CMP, including CQP with ITP, EMP, HSP).About you:Three to Five years' experience in civil contracting.NZDE/bachelor's in civil engineering qualification or similar.Understanding and experience working to NZS 3910.Excellent written and oral communication skills (including report writing).A demonstrated ability to work within the team as well as independently.Possess a good level of computer literacy, including spreadsheets, databases and project planning software.Ability to plan, organise and manage workloads and resources to achieve position requirements and meet deadlines.Be a positive, pro-active and valued member of the team.Liaise effectively and efficiently with the stakeholders.Ability to accurately interpret construction drawings and determine appropriate construction methodologies and testing requirements.Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.About the role: As a Project Engineer you will work on various engineering and construction projects to ensure excellence in the planning, technical and quality delivery of construction projects. These would normally range in value from small (e.g. $1m) to larger (e.g. $10m) and could also include those valued up to $30m in some instances.There would be a degree of variety in project types, which include three waters, earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, civil works, roading or industrial infrastructure. In all instances your expertise and leadership will ensure the project is completed within budget, on schedule, and meets the highest quality standards.
