PROJECT ENGINEER, SEAWORKS LTD, WELLINGTONSearching for a professional office-based role that lets you develop a career based around the ocean?
Interested in working with specialist vessels, technical equipment and subsea remote operated vehicles?Applications are invited for this exciting position in our growing head office located on Wellington's vibrant waterfront.We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented and motivated Project Engineer to work on exciting and dynamic projects across the marine industry.
The role and level of responsibility of the position are flexible and will be developed to suit the background and experience of the successful applicant.As well as having a strong affinity and respect for the marine and ocean environment, the successful applicant will ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or similar) ideally with 3+ years' work experience.
Your key attributes and skills will include:Practical, proactive and innovative approach to problem-solvingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competence writing technical reports, marketing documents and generally working to a high standard of documentationStrong user of MS Office and high levels of general computing competenceMeticulous attention to detail and approach to project record keepingHigh levels of self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to manage competing tasks in a dynamic environmentFriendly and honest personalitySeaworks provides comprehensive marine services and general offshore works including vessel supply, remote operated vehicle (ROV) services, diving support services, hydrographic survey operations, general project management and technical consulting services.
We work with clients involved in the marine sector across a wide range of industries, including submarine cables, aquaculture, offshore energy, hydrographic survey, conservation, environmental survey, film and salvage sectors.Working as part of the tight-knit Seaworks Project Management team, core tasks for our new Project Engineer will include:Project planning, preparation and schedulingOperational and site involvement (eventually Project Management) across Seaworks' projectsInteracting and liaison with offshore / on-site personnel during operationsInvolvement in the ongoing maintenance and management of Seaworks' vessels, ROVs and specialist equipmentProject technical reportingExposure to commercial project management including preparation of tenders and proposals, contract development, and contract administrationThe successful candidate will have excellent opportunities for career progression and acquisition of a wide range of experience while working as part of a small operational and management team.Applicants are required to have an existing New Zealand passport or permanent residency, a valid full driver's licence and to be non-smokers.Salary will be agreed depending on capability and experience.
Starting date flexible.
