We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Hastings team. The site Project Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of capital improvement projects within the site. This includes the development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments. This role works with the plant leadership team to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
About the role Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects in the plant, including equipment installations, process improvements, and facility expansionsDevelop the site 5 year capex planning, focusing on safety improvements, obsolescence planning, asset life extension and technology based innovationsCollaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, scope & deliverablesDevelop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycleConduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and recommend mitigation strategiesSupervise and provide technical guidance to project teams, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulationsIdentify and resolve project-related issues, conflicts, and bottlenecks in a timely mannerPrepare comprehensive project reports, including documentation of project milestones, financials, and lessons learnedValidate technical drawings, schedules and technical manuals with design requirementsWhen required, some travel will be necessary to support project delivery and regional requirementsPromote a culture of: high service level - 'can do' attitude – respectful
About you 3+ years experience working in a FMCG environment is essentialBachelor of Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related area is required5+ years direct people leadership experience would be desirableExperience with contractor management is requiredDemonstrated High Risk work management experienceKnowledge of energy and carbon reduction technology would be desirableBudget management knowledgeHigh level of computer literacy and ability to analyse dataLean manufacturing experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, MDIKnowledge of Workplace Health and SafetyAbility to use initiative and prioritise workAble to work independently and as part of a teamEffective negotiation and influencing skillsAutoCAD and MS Project experience is requiredConfident to work and interact with others at all levels
