About the opportunity
As a driven and experienced Project Engineer you'll fit naturally into our innovative and high performing team. You will be working in collaboration with our process development team, manufacturing team, and R&D team to translate groundbreaking research into the delivery of innovative manufacturing processes at a commercial scale. Your expertise and tenacity will be crucial in ensuring our projects are executed effectively and at pace, contributing to our mission of revolutionising the way the world produces and consumes protein.
About your role
Your time and expertise will see you
Apply specialist knowledge and skills to design and deliver sustainable and economical process solutions for the production of leaf protein products at commercial scale.
Develop mass and energy balances to optimise processes, calculate unit and techno-economics, and optimise unit operations.
Collaborate with equipment suppliers to source and implement the best technologies.
Support engineering activities in the technical scale-up, design, build, and commissioning of our large-scale commercial facility.
Lead small projects within our current manufacturing facility, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Run trials in conjunction with the R&D team to validate processes.
About You
You'll be passionate about diving into a new industry and eager to contribute to sustainable changes in food production. Your dedication to excellence will drive your contribution to the success of our pioneering mission. To thrive in this role you will;
Be a degree qualified engineer in Mechanical or Chemical, or Process engineering disciplines.
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process or Project Engineer.
Demonstrated experience within manufacturing industries e.g. dairy, food/beverage, liquid processing, chemical processing.
Proven track record in managing and executing engineering projects.
Strong analytical skills and experience with process design, mass and energy balances.
Experience working with equipment suppliers and running technical trials.
Thrive in complex and highly collaborative environments.
Be a natural problem solver with the ability to work at pace.
Available to take start a new position 'onsite' in Canterbury in early 2025.
