It's an exciting time to join Barker's of Geraldine. With our factory expansion already underway, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join the team! The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing the design and implementation of Phase two of our factory expansion, which includes upgrading our primary processing area and office areas. This position requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Phase Two Design
As project lead, you will collaborate with contracted design and build project team, and ensure that the design specifications meet operational needs and regulatory requirements for the business.
Facilitate meetings and communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on design objectives and requirements.
Monitor the progress of design, providing regular updates to senior management.
Evaluate and adapt project design to ensure successful integration and project completion.
Work with the management team to develop equipment resource plans, ensuring availability post-construction.
Read, understand and provide feedback on construction, process and engineering drawings relevant to the detailed design of Phase Two.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement:
Ensure projects are delivered within promised timeframes using project management tools.
Support production with projects designed to increase productivity and minimize line stop time during execution.
Propose simple, innovative solutions to complex problems.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure thorough analysis and consultation before decisions are made.
Design with a focus on quality, safety, GMP, and efficiency for the food production environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong organisational skills - proficient with document management, keeping of accurate records and meeting minutes.
Experience in Engineering - mechanical or electrical.
Proven experience in project management, preferably within the food manufacturing or industrial engineering sector.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety, GMP, and food safety standards.
Ability to manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement innovative solutions.
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
Preferred: experience and proficiency in using MS Teams, Smartsheet and Auto-cad.
