Higgins have an exciting pipeline of work kicking off in January 2025. We are currently searching for Project Engineers with proven Pavement, Roading, and Earthworks experience to join our project team in Northland.This is an excellent opportunity for someone local to Dargaville; alternatively, we offer project accommodation if required. This is a fixed-term position until the end of the project, approx. March 2026.Come join the Higgins team:Be involved in the full project lifecycle, kicking off January 2025.This role is site-based so would either suit someone local to Northland or willing to relocate; support will be provided.Project Accommodation available for those open to short-term relocation.Competitive remuneration + vehicle.Gain full project lifecycle experience.Work alongside an experienced team of Project Managers, Construction Manager, and Project Director.Career development – opportunities to grow your career at Higgins and the wider Fletcher Building group of businesses.Access to Fletcher's Building Benefits Programme, including:A brand-new market-leading parental leave policy to ensure employees are well supported throughout one of life's most significant events.FB employee share scheme, educational and welfare funds.A significant portfolio of retail benefits across major NZ businesses such as ANZ, Z energy, PlaceMakers, Mico, and Samsung.What you'll bring to the role:3+ years' experience as a Project Engineer on civils and roading projects.Prior project experience overseeing roading, earthworks, and pavement construction.Major project experience is preferred but not essential.A tertiary qualification in Engineering (NZDCE or BEng Civils or similar).A strong focus on cost control and quality outcomes.Understanding of the Construction Contracts Act and the knowledge to apply NZS3910 is desirable.Experience managing project resources including materials and teams/crews is favourable.Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders and clients.Higgins is a leading roading and civil infrastructure company in New Zealand.
