It is a great time to join our Civil business. Our Civil business is a division of the Business specialising in Infrastructure Construction, based around Reinforced Concrete. We are currently delivering work ranging from Bridges and Wharves to Water Treatment Plants and Storage Tanks and Pipelines.
Responsibilities
Manage the teams and sub-contractors within your area and coordinate with the other teams to ensure optimisation of resources and efficiency.
Develop advice including construction plans and documentation.
Plan the execution of the works and develop construction methodology for all elements of the works.
Provide a monthly forecast of cost to complete to the commercial manager, and an estimate of the work completed in terms of percentages complete to the planner.
Optimise the use of material, plant and labour.
Report progress and performance.
Maintain a safe and tidy site, assisting in the development of management systems and ensuring compliance within your team.
Undertake regular inspections to ensure that safety, environmental, and quality standards are achieved across the project.

What we're looking for:
This position requires leadership, energy, structural construction knowledge, and the capability to be hands-on, providing coaching and mentoring to team members on various technical elements, ensuring that work is completed to deadline and a high quality. You will have proven experience in major civil D&C construction projects and be familiar with NZS3916 and the Construction Contracts Act. You will be well versed in using these principles to get the job completed within the timeframe, budget, and claim entitlements. You will have a strong history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors.
As a Project Engineer you will have:
Proven experience managing budgets and programmes.
Excellent leadership qualities.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
Financial focus towards project costs.
Proven ability in subcontractor management.
A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Structural Engineer and have a BE, NZCE or a Diploma in Civil Engineering. Key to this role will be your commitment to achieve exceptional outcomes in delivery.
