Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleThe primary purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of major capital works projects as prioritised through the Infrastructure and Investment Plan. In this role, you will support the delivery of an affordable health pipeline and build confidence of the Government and public in Health NZ's ability to deliver a step change in infrastructure outcomes by working on cross portfolio initiatives including standardized commercial models, technical specifications or designs.About the Team/Service/LocationThe mission of the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) is to provide safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment that are essential for a well-functioning health system. The IIG leads investment by understanding and managing these well, ensuring health facilities, sites, and equipment with the highest need of investment are prioritised and standardising the way these are maintained, refurbished or redeveloped.About youYou will be an experienced, confident, and astute Project Director, with experience in delivering large commercial infrastructure projects. The role requires someone who is a seasoned Project Director, with experience at senior management level, excels in leading large and complex programs across diverse sectors. Demonstrated expertise in establishing robust processes for identifying, managing, and monitoring complex risks, with a particular focus on safety management and design. This professional adeptly navigates environments that require high-level engagement with senior stakeholders, having strong political acumen and financial management skills.Knowledge and application of appropriate project management frameworks, and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools.Significant experience in strategic communications and an ability to take complex information and synthesise into key messages for relevant audiences.Political nuance, with an understanding how issues play out and what is important to key stakeholders and the Government of the day.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
