This position contributes to the delivery of Te Whatu Ora's strategic plan through delivery of projects of work that sit within the remit of the directorate of Rural, Family & Community Health Services; specifically, the Oral Health Service. It requires a strategic approach and understanding relating to the needs of the population of Te Tai Tokerau in order to achieve positive outcomes for the population and in particular Maori and other disadvantaged groups. Current focuses are the Supervised Tooth Brushing Program, the reporting associated and delivery across Te Tai Tokerau. Mahi in the Adolescent Coordination space, communicating with private practices that are providing adolescent care. This role is permanent full time 1.0 FTE, working 40 hours per week and based in Whangarei with some travel around the region required at times. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for: Leadership and Management Initiating the appointed project Monitoring and controlling the project Project execution and closure Stakeholder management and reporting Requirements: Dental Assistant Certificate or other relevant Oral Health Qualification Relevant health/social or business management experience or qualification Current NZ Drivers Licence Experience and knowledge of primary, community, secondary health related issues especially those pertaining to high needs populations Experience working in the health sector Network and relationship management experience and skills Experience in different techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Maori as Tangata Whenua as the highest priority.
