Te aheinga - The opportunity As a result of NPDC's Organisation Transformation review, a number of new teams and roles have been created, including the Project Management Office (PMO). NPDC has over $1B of capital projects to deliver over the next decade and the PMO plays a crucial role in delivering this significant investment efficiently and effectively for our community.
We are looking for one experienced and highly organised individual for the newly created Project Coordinator role. Reporting to the Business Support Lead, this role provides direct support to the PMO by supporting project managers with project planning and delivery activities, and the consistent application of effective project controls aligned to NPDC's project management framework.
Actively assist project managers in the consistent use of NPDC and/or good practice project practices/standards, controls, tools and templates that support the project teams to achieve project outcomes - this includes areas such as project planning, project approach/lifecycle, quality management, resource planning, change control, risk and issue management, lessons learned etc.Support Project Manager(s) in consistently forecasting, analysing and reporting on the status and performance of their projects within Council's project management system.Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, working as a trusted partner across the complete project lifecycle phases.Coordinate, prepare necessary presentation materials and document meetings, circulating minutes in a timely manner and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.Record project decisions, changes, processing change request requirements and maintaining registers.Support Project Manager(s) to complete the handover process which includes asset data capture, capitalisation, financial closure, system closure and closure reports.You will have two plus years experience in a project role, working with project delivery teams, plus: An understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks.Excellent knowledge of administrative processes, systems and technology.Experience in developing and reviewing key documentation and working with teams to deliver quality outputs.Exceptional organisational skills, including multitasking, time-management, and strong ability to prioritise and manage workloads.Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, financial management and report writing skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in team environments.Advanced computer skills and experience with MS products, SharePoint (or similar online document management portal), HR and Finance systems/portals.Experience working with Kaupapa Maori, competency in Tikanga and a dedication to applying Te Ao Maori lens.Experience working in a complex public-facing environment with working knowledge of Local Government legislation.He aha ai a Taranaki? - Why Taranaki? You can expect to start in this permanent full-time role with us between $75,675 - $81,560.
