Project AccountantDate: 16 Dec 2024Location: Thames, WKO, NZ, 3500Company: VentiaWHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?Ventia is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant to join their Finance team in the new year.This full-time, permanent position will involve close collaboration with our Transport Infrastructure business across the Thames-Coromandel and Hauraki District regions.As part of a dedicated, high-performing Finance team within a leading global organization, you'll have access to professional development and training opportunities that support your career growth.The role offers flexibility with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work from either the Thames or Paeroa office on some days, and from home on others.In addition to a rewarding work environment, Ventia provides attractive perks including retail discounts through the #VentiaPerks program and access to the Health Essentials plan with Southern Cross.ABOUT THE ROLEThe successful candidate will play a key role in the financial management of projects or business units, primarily supporting the Project Finance Manager to drive finance excellence.The role ensures robust processes are in place for accurate reporting, timely performance insights, and data integrity.Additionally, the Project Accountant identifies areas for improvement and works with the Project Finance Manager and project teams to implement necessary changes.As a subject matter expert (SME) on transaction accounting, the Project Accountant will share this expertise with the project team.This role embodies Ventia's core values of "Integrity," "Collaboration," "Challenge," and "Ingenuity," contributing to the success of the project while being an engaged and productive member of the Sector Finance community.ABOUT YOUIdeally, you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the Infrastructure sectors, particularly in Roading Construction and Maintenance, as well as preferably a CA/CPA qualification gained in Australia or New Zealand.Skills, Characteristics, and Other ExperienceProficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Office 365, and SharePoint.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Effective time management abilities.Strong understanding of accounting principles for construction/maintenance projects.Supportive of workload and knowledge sharing.Collaborative within the regional finance team.Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset.If you value positive working relationships, are achievement-driven, disciplined, and able to meet deadlines, while being passionate about personal growth and supporting the success of others, we would love to hear from you!ABOUT VENTIAVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
