Our client is a highly successful and rapidly-expanding engineering and construction firm with operations throughout the East Coast. It specializes in environmental solutions, and has 100s of clients across the US, primarily in utilities and municipalities.
Each client project is unique, complex and typically lasts multiple years and involves multiple sub-vendors. As a result, client billing is also unique and complex.
The Project Accountants work with the Project Teams to ensure that the billing is handled on a timely basis, is compliant with contract terms and project status and that it is clean and accurate.
This is challenging and voluminous work and we seek candidates who have strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail and like to "solve puzzles." While some related industry experience would be valuable, client is prepared to train a high potential candidate. Compensation will be generous. Other Things to Note:
This is a remote position. Client is targeting candidates who live near NC and who can be in office for occasional meetings and training.Position will involve creating monthly (or other period) invoices for project work based on the terms of the contract, the work done to date and the client-specific formatting. Because of the complexity of environmental projects, this can be complex (and sometimes confusing) work. Seek candidate with strong analytical skills. Some experience in engineering, construction or similar industry would be helpful.This is an interactive role. The Billing Team will regularly work with the Project Teams to verify billing data, resolve discrepancies, monitor progress, etc. Seek candidate whose analytical and detail skills are complemented by a highly collaborative work style.The firm uses Deltek Vantagepoint software and related experience will be important.Selected Duties:
Preparing and sending accurate invoices in a timely matter using client-specific formattingCoordinating with Project Managers to receive and incorporate their draft invoice comments and reports into final invoices.Coordinating with Subconsultants to ensure their invoices are accurate and meet our clients' requirements; Entering and posting sub invoicesOpening and closing projects, including client set-up.Reviewing Accounts Receivable and assisting in collection efforts.Preparing other reports as necessary.Targeted candidate will offer a financial or analytical degree and 1+ years of related experience. Client is open to training recent college graduates, presuming they show high aptitude for analytical and detail-oriented work.
