Community Development (Community Services & Development) Support the Hauora team to identify and celebrate/promote significant health awareness weeks/days/months including but not limited to:Mental Health Awareness weekPink RibbonYouth WeekPink Shirt DayWork with our Waka Ama coaches, clubs, and kura to organise events and competitions with the aim of raising awareness of Waka Ama as a sport.Organise contractors to hold fitness and training groups in our gym space, including marketing and promotionsSupport our vaccination team to host events that increase access to vaccinations for rural communitiesLook for opportunities to get our new Health Bus on the road, and help coordinate our outreach servicesDevelop relationships with partner agencies and look for opportunities for collaborationLead the organisations celebrations of cultural significance,including:MatarikiCoordinate school holiday programs and mentoring for RangatahiIdentify skills and knowledge within our community and create opportunities for these to be shared with others.Ensure all events and programs are well advertised, include Whanau voice, and are delivered within budget and timeframes.There will be administration requirements for this role such as reporting and health and safety documentation.Experience with Microsoft office and high level of tech literacy is essential.Some after hours and weekend work will be required.Must be comfortable working in a kaupapa Maori environment.Be a well organised, positive, team player, that is confident engaging with people from all walks of life.Contract until July 2025Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
