Programme Producer
Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki (AAG TOT) is a cultural leader in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our purpose is to be a place for art and a catalyst for ideas. Our collection spans over 15,000 artworks and over 500,000 people visit us annually. The Gallery is a centre for excellence in exhibition-making, research, publishing, education, conservation, membership, public programming and community outreach.
This is a fixed term contract (parental leave cover), starting from approx. late Jan 2025 for 1 (one) year.
As a Programme Producer, you'll play a key role in bringing the Gallery's collections and exhibitions to life, creating free and paid public programmes that welcome a diverse public audience. From live events to digital offerings, you'll focus on engaging Maori, Pacific, Asian, LGBTQI+, and other audiences across Tamaki Makaurau, ensuring accessibility and inclusion at every turn.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Public Programming and has no direct reports.
This role is 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, although evening and weekend work is required for special events, which is compensated.

To be successful in this role, you need:
Experience developing public programmes in arts or cultural settings.
Knowledge of public programming trends, audience engagement strategies, and accessibility requirements.
Familiarity with te Tiriti o Waitangi, Matauranga Maori, and a commitment to cultural competence.
Proven abilities in project management, budgeting, and risk assessment.
A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in arts, culture, or events management.

Salary Band: F
Salary range $75 - 84k per annum, depending on skillset and experience.
