$75 per hour, 10 hours per week during term timeOur client, the Rotary Club of Penrose Charitable Trust, has developed New Zealand's most successful reading enrichment programme that enhances the lives of year nine students in various High Schools across New Zealand since 1997. The Reading Enrichment Programme's professionally supervised sessions aim to raise student literacy levels and confidence, ensuring improved academic paths for the rest of their education.The OpportunityThe position of Reading Enrichment Programme Manager is newly created and will be carried out on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work ten hours per week during the four school terms (40 weeks in total). The remuneration for this role is $75 per hour.The Programme Manager will be responsible for:Maximizing the effective operation of the REP (Rotary Enrichment Programme) through sharing of knowledge and resources to support the partnership with each school.Growing the Programme to other willing schools and communities.Increasing the number of Volunteers.Advertising REP widely to encourage understanding and uptake of this initiative.Consolidating, refining, and sharing existing materials.The Programme Manager will report to the Chair and be accountable to the Advisory Committee, comprising the Network Facilitator and two experienced Coordinators. Responsibilities will include:Regularly communicating with and supporting REP Volunteer Coordinators.Regular (twice yearly) meetings with school leadership, professional staff, and Volunteer Coordinators.Ongoing liaison with the Chair, and monthly online meetings with the Advisory Committee.Responding to queries for new Partnerships from Schools, Rotary Clubs, and the Community.Developing ways to promote the profile and reach of REP to new schools.Improving outreach for recruitment of Volunteers.Working with the Network Committee on materials.What You'll BringTo secure this role, you must have current or previous experience within the New Zealand education system as a Teacher, Tutor, or Principal. You'll be comfortable in school environments and able to liaise constructively with Principals, Teachers, Support Staff, and Senior Management. You'll have a passion for community partnerships, supporting the work of schools to benefit young people. You'll be a collaborative leader with high levels of energy and initiative, and be confident and innovative with social media and technology. You'll be an empathetic and articulate communicator, able to appreciate the contributions and constraints of volunteers, and you'll have the ability to problem-solve and reach win/win solutions for all parties.Ideally, you'll be able to start in this position at the beginning of Term Four.This is a truly special opportunity.
