About the team
At DOC, we are building our capability within our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). The team are the custodians of the project management frameworks, project management tool and manage the assurance of key documentation for projects and programmes. We have a significant number of projects and programmes underway at any one time across digital, business change, infrastructure and property projects.
About the role
Are you an experienced Programme Manager eager to embrace exciting challenges? In this role within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), you will initially focus on achieving strategic outcomes for the Ruapehu Alpine Lift redundant infrastructure programme, and other programmes following that.
You will oversee construction contracts and contractors while collaborating closely with community and iwi partners. Your key responsibilities include:

Managing the programme which will oversee multiple property projects from conception to completion.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
Developing and implementing programme plans, schedules, and resource planning.
Conducting risk assessments and devising mitigation strategies.
Monitoring programme progress and reporting on key metrics to senior management.

Skills and experience
We are looking for a natural connector and problem solver, bringing experience as both a people leader and in project and programme management. You will be a seasoned construction Programme Manager with extensive expertise in property development initiatives within complex environments.

Experience as a programme manager in a medium to large organisation delivering construction/property programmes and projects.
Understanding of the machinery of government.
Experience in managing construction contracts and contractors.
Experience working with iwi partners and communities.
Experience and understanding of the P3M environment, including best practice methodologies, e.g., Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), Prince2 and/or other best practice methodologies and frameworks.
A strong collaborator, able to build trust and influence stakeholders.
Strong financial and commercial acumen.
Understanding the impact DOC and the wider public sector/government has on the Maori-Crown relationship.
A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
Full New Zealand driver licence.

The salary range for this position is $112,469 - $150,996 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
