The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership to New Zealand's distributed emergency management system. NEMA's primary focus is on the performance and capability of the emergency management system as a whole, across all hazards and all risks and the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery.

In this role, you will lead the team focused on creating a common operating picture of natural hazards and events for enhanced situational awareness for crisis decision making.
Reviews and inquiries have underscored the need for better emergency management information systems for over 20 years. While technology products have been adopted by NEMA and other parts of the emergency management sector, a significant uplift is needed to enable interoperability, coordination, collaboration, and resilient communications for large-scale emergencies.
In this six-month assignment, you will be the core programme team member facilitating independent specialists to deliver business cases for future consideration.

The indicative REM for this role is $169,939 - $185,565.
