As an alternative education and mental health provider working with 14–24-year-olds, our team has a passion for helping rangatahi navigate the challenges and barriers they face preparing for their futures.About the roleYou will support a small multidisciplinary team through leading the re-development and delivery of our alternative education curriculum focusing on vocation and wellbeing, whilst also prioritising strengthening the mental health of rangatahi participating in our programme and their whanau. Our intention at YouthGrow is to ensure the delivery of an engaging, safe and effective youth development and educational programme, which you and the team will achieve alongside our YouthGrow Manager.Hours: This is a permanent 32 hour per week Monday – Friday position based at our Centennial Avenue YouthGrow site.Key Tasks IncludeSupporting and maintaining the re-development and delivery of our alternative education programmeUndertaking initial assessments and completing rangatahi focused Collaborative Action PlansLeading the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for rangatahiNetworking with and working alongside agencies who are also supporting rangatahi and their whanauSupporting rangatahi with growing their skills for life, and to be work readyCompleting NZQA assessments (training provided to achieve this)About YouWe would love you to:Work from a strength-based framework and bring a mana-enhancing approach to your mahi.Demonstrate ability to provide leadership and support in a positive and effective manner.Understand the alternative education landscape.Have a passion for, and skills in, assisting rangatahi to navigate the challenges they may have experienced due to mental health, substance use, offending, and/or care and protection factors.Have experience in skillful group facilitation, but also individual and whanau mahi.Have resilience, relational skills, embrace diversity and have a great sense of humour.Enjoy the outdoors and being active.Have a Level 5 qualification, or equivalent qualification and experience in youth, mental health or social work.Hold a full driver's license and can drive a van!About UsFamily Works is a service within Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) that works to ensure every person is valued and grows in a safe and strong community.
