This Programme Director role is a high profile, outward facing role that provides strategic direction to enable successful definition and delivery of large and complex programmes (approx. $2-6bn). You will resolve complex, cross-programme trade-offs in an environment where there is significant ministerial or Board interest.
This Programme Director role will lead a programme focused on Roads of Regional Significance. As the Director, you will own the programme outcomes and objectives and oversee delivery to ensure the desired outcomes.
You will provide confidence to senior leadership within, and outside of NZTA, that Transport Services programmes are being managed in the most effective way.
We are seeking a senior leader with strong commercial acumen to:
Own the programme definition and delivery planning.
Lead a virtual programme team to provide efficient and effective programme management.
Provide trusted advice to National Portfolio and Programme Governance, and Senior decision makers including the Board and Minister.
Act as a key influencer and manage key relationships with central government agencies such as Ministry of Transport, Te Waihanga and Treasury.
Manage programme performance.
This Programme Director role requires a seasoned executive with:
Proven / strong commercial acumen in the infrastructure sector.
A proven pedigree in leading large and complex programmes, preferably in the transport or infrastructure sectors.
Exceptional leadership, at a senior level, in large and/or complex organisations.
Demonstrated experience in the development and prioritization of large infrastructure programmes.
Expert knowledge in Programme management frameworks and approaches e.g. MSP etc. and infrastructure delivery lifecycles.
Experience working collaboratively with Ministers, Boards, senior leaders, iwi, industry and government stakeholders.
Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to influence at executive leadership levels, at a regional and national level internally and externally.
