We blend local government expertise, specialised policy advice and operational delivery and oversight to bring about a strong local government system.We are establishing a new policy team within our Local Government Policy and Operations Group to deliver the Government's new Regional Deals programme. The new Regional Deals Team will work alongside and with our three other Policy Teams and our Operational Policy Team to deliver on this important long-term Government programme. With this being a new team and a new programme, there is a wide range of tasks that must be done so never a dull moment.Experienced programme/project professional able to lead and complete all the usual project products and artefacts.You will be a good thinker with great logic and intuition alongside your super strong administration and organisation skills.Skilled at building strong relationships and working face to face across many different stakeholders.You will have a growth mindset, be prepared to take risks, ask questions and work collaboratively with others to get things right, critical for a new programme being developed at pace.Most importantly, while the work is complex and challenging, you will not take yourself too seriously and be prepared to make a joke and have fun.This is a fixed-term role until 30 June 2025 as the Regional Deals programme is new and still developing with Government yet to make longer-term decisions on the shape, administration or location of the programme.Te Tari TaiwhenuaWorking at the Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of New Zealanders.
