We are proud to have won Community of the Year at New Zealander of the Year Awards for 2023 and been a part of the winner's group in 2024 too.We work with 287 community partners (including New Zealand Police, Te Whatu Ora, Iwi organisations, Social Services and NGOs) with resources, projects and events to support children, families and communities, all over Aotearoa.We're looking for a Programme Coordinator to support our Programme Managers, in particular with our Everyday Essentials programme and PJ Project.This is a hands-on, physical, busy, on your feet role!
You'll be just as happy in the food bank, packing food boxes, packing toiletries, packing and delivering pyjamas, and just as happy completing your administration for the day after all the referrals are delivered to Social Workers.You'll be friendly, accommodating and take pride in the fact that the food and items you've put together will support a family that night.
Once all your referrals and food boxes are packed for the day, you'll assist our Programme Managers who operate the Christmas Joy Store, Build Projects and Kindness Cup with whatever they may need.
This may include driving, sourcing, being on the phone, visiting our community partners, whatever they may need!This role is responsible for:Day to day coordination of the Everyday Essentials programme in our community hub including receiving, facilitating and delivery of all referrals for families in need in a proactive, timely manner.
This programme supports thousands of families every year, so we need someone who's kind, empathetic, friendly and driven to make real change in the community.Support our PJ Project team to help facilitate the delivery of over 25,000 pairs of PJs to kids in need across the country.Support our Programme Managers with other tasks relating to other programmes in quieter patches outside of peak seasons (winter and Christmas).You will have:Experience in or a desire to work in the for-purpose sector with a drive to deliver positive outcomes for whanau and communities.Experience in a role where excellent customer service was paramount.You're proficient in using a computer.
You can use Excel, Word, emails, both Microsoft and Google programmes, and once taught can use a CRM system.
Please note, you will be tested on Excel.The ability to juggle multiple jobs at once, where you thrive working in a busy environment where no two days are the same.You will have a commitment to respecting, understanding and learning from Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Maori.
You'll be able to connect and work with people from diverse backgrounds and have a hunger to listen and learn from our community partners.You're proactive and think ahead, especially with looking at stock in our warehouse for your Everyday Essentials programme.You are a confident communicator.
You don't mind picking up the phone, chatting with people and are friendly, patient and kind at all times.You're reliable, you get the job done and you're motivated by the knowledge we're making a difference.The ability to work longer hours in December.
We run an extremely busy Christmas Joy Store and require all hands on deck during December until we close on the 20th for three weeks over summer.The Kindness Collective has a strong commitment to building a diverse organisation.
