SUDI Prevention Programme and Team Lead Nga Wananga o Hine Kopu (1.0 FTE) The role: The primary purpose of the position is to co-ordinate, deliver, develop and monitor the SUDI prevention education programme to Te Tai Tokerau work force and wider external relevant agencies.
To support the strategic direction of the SUDI prevention programme through evidence-based training, education, practice and development across a multi-disciplinary and intersectoral workforce spanning health, education, social and community sectors.
This role requires an experienced educator, relationship manager, articulate communicator with sound knowledge & expertise of all positive infant and child health behaviours such as (but not limited to) SUDI prevention – safe sleep messaging, safe sleep bed programme, early engagement with maternity, benefits of being smokefree, breastfeeding & being immunised.
This position is permanent full time 1.0 FTE working 40 hours per week based in Whangarei, however some travel around the region may be required.

Requirements: Health Professional with Practicing Certificate Current clean driver's licence Ability to work with whanau and build relationships High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Organisational skills and computer literacy Ability to facilitate and teach, coach and mentor others Clinical experience in Well Child Tamariki, Public Health or Paediatric, Midwifery / Registered Nurse / Health Promotion is desirable.
