Position Title: Program Manager and Coach Location: Kawerau, Eastern Bay of Plenty, New Zealand Reports To: Program Director Position Type: Full-time Independent Contractor Job Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic Program Manager and Coach to join our team.
This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of our program, ensuring the successful planning, implementation, and management of activities.
The ideal candidate will have a background in management or team leadership, and coaching, teaching, or mentoring, with the ability to maintain high standards and deliver a comprehensive set of activities.
The Program Manager is a unifier, excellent at bringing people together, and has the strength and capacity to lead the group when needed.
You will guide the Program Coordinator, Coach and Compliance Officer, and Logistics Leader, ensuring daily check-ins, accountability, and adherence to program components and procedures.

Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Oversee daily operations, program organization, and implementation management.
Facilitate team meetings, including morning hui, and set weekly and daily program agendas.
Ensure the team adheres to all codes, policies, legal requirements, and procedures of Toiora NZ Ltd.
Assist with Rangatahi recruitment drive.
Coaching and Development: Encourage and support team members' development.
Mentor and support rangatahi (youth) development and work readiness milestones.
Play an active role in delivering workshops and developing rangatahi's soft skills, work readiness, and experiential activities with the support of other team members.
Program Development: Plan and develop program content, including activities.
Engage with the community, including IWI and employers, to support program objectives.
Adjust and recommend program improvements as needed.
Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with community stakeholders.
Coordinate with employers for rangatahi work placements and development opportunities.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain high standards of communication and reporting to Toiora NZ Ltd. management.
Update shared Google Drive with rangatahi case files, engagement forms, activity reports, incident reports, and contact details.
Ensure all records are kept up-to-date and accurate.
Key Actions and Expectations: Facilitate and develop the four areas of the program: well-being, work readiness, training and work experience, and pastoral care.
Manage group and rangatahi behavior in line with guidelines & Health & Safety (H&S) policy.
Host and/or participate in all required team meetings.
Practice cultural sensitivity and build a culture of trust through values of understanding and compassion.
Create and coordinate activities as part of course design and on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications: Proven experience in team leadership and coaching roles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong administrator and leadership skills.
Commitment to both policies and procedures.
Must have working with children certificate and police check.
Additional Skills: Passionate about the kaupapa and bringing a strong network.
Experience with youth development programs.
Understanding of Maori culture and protocols.
Ability to help deliver engaging workshops.
Experience in conflict resolution and behavior management.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in using digital tools and technology for program management.
