In addition, the successful candidate will be appointed to a fixed term role of Associate Dean, Research in the Faculty. This professorial role is a full-time and continuing (i.e. permanent) position. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching and research within the Faculty.Mou | Who You AreApplicants must provide demonstrated evidence of successful research and teaching in areas that align with the needs of Te Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education, such as culturally responsive and sustainable teaching, learning and research, Matauranga Maori, STEM Education, or teacher learning and development. The person appointed to this role will also be expected to maintain an active research programme.Applicants will need to demonstrate the following characteristics:Hold a doctoral degree in Education or a related discipline.Evidence of an established record of research success including with externally funded research grants, and experience in mentoring others in research.A proven record of supervision of Masters and Doctoral students.The ability to both develop and lead undergraduate and postgraduate courses in education in their area(s) of expertise and on education-wide issues.An understanding of, and the ability to apply, bicultural (and/or cultural) competence in an Aotearoa New Zealand context.A demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and collaborative research and teaching.The following will be an advantage for applicants:Recent, relevant experience in the education sector (teaching and/or research) in science, technology, or mathematics learning areas of the New Zealand curriculum.Teacher Registration (or the ability to gain registration) in New Zealand.Demonstration of positive engagement with a range of community stakeholders.Experience working with Pasific and/or Maori communities.Mahi Ngatahi | Who You Will Work WithTe Kaupeka Ako | Faculty of Education staff share a common commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi informed, culturally responsive, and sustainable teaching and learning.
