Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Developing and delivering for the first time our Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Cardiac Ultrasound, you will provide exceptional guidance to our future sonographers.
This is the opportunity to build capability within our framework for Cardiac sonography education in New Zealand and requires someone with cardiac sonography experience, pedagogical experience, enthusiasm for conveying complex information online to students, and for setting up an assessment framework that can be deployed into hospitals around the country.
We are seeking a qualified cardiac sonographer to further develop courses fit for the purpose of registering cardiac sonography students in New Zealand, in the role of Professional Teaching Fellow |Cardiac Ultrasound .
You will be comfortable developing a curriculum for the profession that would set the students up for clinical practice and also for life-long learning.
You will be joining an experienced team of educators who can provide support in how to develop courses that are interesting relevant and fit for online delivery.
The content the successful applicant will develop will be unique but there is a robust pathway for ensuring the online aspect can work smoothly.  Prior teaching experience would be advantageous.
We also seek someone who wishes to develop relationships with the registering authorities, Te Whatu Ora, and other cardiology clinics.
This is a part-time role (0.5 FTE i.e.
20 hours per week) and would be for a fixed term of two years, to start in and around January/February 2025.

We are also flexible about arrangements such as buyback or secondment arrangements.
Salary range is $111,297-$132,496 (pro rata, full time equivalent is 40 hours per week) per annum, dependant on skills and experience a VSP may apply.

Qualifications He korero mou | About you You will be an experienced sonographer with a gift for training and teaching.
You'll have a passion for advancing the profession and teaching future generations of sonographers.
Essential requirements: hold a current or be eligible for New Zealand clinical annual practising certificate (APC).
