Professional Standards Assistant

Hours: Minimum of 16 hours per week. About Us: The Marist Brothers are committed to safeguarding and professional standards. We work closely with the National Office for Professional Standards (NOPS) and other key stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals within our communities and ministries. Role Purpose: The Professional Standards Assistant (PSA) will support the Professional Standards Manager (PSM) in all matters related to safeguarding and professional standards. This includes supporting responses to enquiries, assisting with investigations of physical and sexual abuse, and supporting survivors. Key Responsibilities: Safeguarding and Professional Standards: Assist in implementing and managing safeguarding measures and professional standards across the organization.Complaint Management: Act as a point of contact for complaints, manage and process complaints, and support complainants throughout the process.Support and Communication: Provide support to the PSM, liaise with NOPS, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in developing policies and guidelines related to safeguarding and professional standards.Occupational Health and Safety: Promote personal safety and risk management within the workplace.Administrative Tasks: Organize and maintain files, prepare educational materials, and support the Professional Standards team with various tasks.Key Requirements: An understanding of the available mental health services and social service facilities in Aotearoa New Zealand. Commitment to the philosophy, values, and mission of the Marist Brothers.Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications in the work of the organization.Current driver's license and NZ visa work requirements.Enrollment with a recognized social work supervisor.Ability to travel as needed.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and ethical protocols.
