Professional Practice Fellow - Critical Care Learning - 2401839We invite applications for a Professional Practice Fellow in the Department of Surgical Sciences, ICU/Anaesthesia, that prides itself on its contribution to medical and health sciences teaching.The Role/Te mahiIn this role you will principally be required to participate in teaching for Final Year Medical Students (Trainee Interns) using simulated cases of life-threatening problems in the Skills Lab approximately every six weeks, and in between assist the Module convener in reviewing and developing new teaching materials for online learning and the simulation cases.Main Objectives:Participate in teaching and assessment in the Simulation Weeks which occur with each cycle of the module throughout the year (Approximately 20 hours of contact time concentrated in each of these weeks).Assist the Module Convenor to prepare and improve the e-learning resources needed to support Critical Care Learning in the 6th year course.Assist the Module Convenor to prepare and improve the Simulation cases and other Simulation Week teaching needed to support Critical Care Learning in the 6th year course.The successful applicant for this position should be a medical graduate with suitable post-graduate clinical experience and be preferably near completion or recently completed a post-graduate training program in a field of relevance to Critical Care Learning.Applicants should demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and the development of new teaching methods and materials beyond those traditionally used in OMS, particularly e-learning.This is a permanent, part-time (0.2 FTE) position based in Dunedin.
