Is this role the next step in your production career?At RJ's confectionery, we are now recruiting for experienced and motivated individuals to join our production Night shift as our Shift Manager working out of our very busy Levin manufacturing facility.No day is the same at RJ's, so be prepared to be on the go. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is key in ensuring that production occurs in the most efficient, safe and cost-effective manner to meet product demands.About the roleAs a Shift Manager you are responsible for boosting operational performance and ensuring high quality production is maintained in a safe, but efficient manner. This role is responsible for linking the shift team to other teams by working pro-actively with other shift managers to implement improvement initiatives.Provide feedback to Production Manager on team performance and highlight areas of concern as soon as possible.Ensure open and effective communication exists within the team.Work with HR to maximise employee attendance and ensure planned and unplanned absenteeism aligns with set minimum targets.Be consistent in the management of employees on a day-to-day basis.Drive and motivate team to achieve daily targets.Ensure that product produced meets required specifications.Ensure that all direct reports and anyone seen entering the factory is dressed according to the company GMP Policy.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE3-5 years' experience working in a supervisory or leadership role within a food manufacturing environment.Intermediate Microsoft Office and computer skills.In-depth understanding of production processes.Sound understanding of quality, food and workplace health and safety.Demonstrated experience in supervising, motivating and assisting in the professional development of direct reports.In addition, it's essential that you have the following:Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Sense of urgency, deadline driven with exceptional organisational and multi-tasking skills.Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders.Troubleshooting ability, patient and level-headed (i.e. not short/quick tempered).Strong leadership skills with the ability to build rapport with direct reports and drive engagement.Accuracy and attention to detail.Able to work independently and be a team player.Ability to work in an environment that is 'hands-on.'BENEFITSCompetitive Salary on OfferOnsite parkingAccess to I Am Here – our mental health and wellbeing initiative$40 monthly voucher to spend at our onsite retail store.If you are a team player and looking for a rewarding role in RJ's, please click on the Apply Now button.Applicants must have appropriate working rights.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
