Due to a recent internal promotion, we are currently recruiting for a self-motivated and collaborative leader to join our team as Line Leader, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, and based at our Papakura site. This role is permanent, full-time, and working our Morning Shift - 12.05am – 8:05am, (some flexibility will be required to occasionally work a monthly Saturday)

The ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging automation and robotics technologies to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. We are in an exciting period of significant process change (Integrated Work Systems/IWS into our plants) environment which emphasizes lean manufacturing, standardized work employee involvement, and driven performance metrics to create a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be passionate about fostering a culture of innovation among your team especially with our IWS journey and you'll be a leader who really thrives on a challenge, loves coaching a team to deliver change, who genuinely sees the value in introducing this way of working to the business and getting actively involved on the shop floor!
The key focus of this role is to ensure that all production targets and manufacturing plans are achieved, within timeframe and allocated resources. Alongside the daily running of production and team leadership, this role will have exposure to a range of projects and continuous improvement initiatives - we're looking for someone who really thrives on a challenge, proactively seeks new opportunities and who is all about thinking outside the box!
You will be well supported under the direction of the Operations Manager and Manufacturing Manager. We are after an experienced strong people & technical leader, who can effectively drive engagement, link with key stakeholders across the business and make sound decisions under pressure! Is resilient and enjoys being challenged!
What you'll be responsible for: Leading teams across the site during your shift including decision making regarding breakdowns, labour, or security issues.Managing, engaging, and developing a team of approximately 12 permanent employees - including recruitment, performance management and training to achieve the vision of a highly skilled, flexible shift team.Championing Health & Safety and Food Safety - driving GMP and ensuring safe working practices are maintained.Ensuring all production targets & manufacturing plans are achieved while meeting product quality standards, optimizing labour and minimizing waste.Leading and implementing continuous improvement initiative. What you'll bring to the role? Proven experience in a leadership role at a team leader / production supervisor (as a minimum) or shift manager level.Bachelor's degree in science, Engineering, robotics, automation, or related field will be of advantage.A strong record of developing people and building a positive culture.Experience within a food manufacturing environment – including awareness of key food safety and quality requirements.Ideally, you'll have a tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Technology, or another relevant field.Strong communication skills to engage your team and advocate for your shift when working with other departments.Resilience and the confidence to make decisions under pressure.Project management skills to allow you to meet today's goals while keeping an eye to the bigger picture.Proactive mindset and previous involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.An eagerness to learn and grow your career with us.Inquisitive mindset and passionate in automation systems, robotics, programming.
