About the role
This role leads the systematisation of new products, oversees the whole of the order book, and coordinates manufacturing activity (flow of materials, jobs and job information). With support from the planning administrator, you will ensure AW Fraser delivers on its customer promise (to time, cost and quality) whilst ensuring optimum use of all resources. This includes the creation and management of manufacturing information in our ERP system.
The role will require you to:
Lead the Sales and Operations planning process (quarterly, monthly, weekly) to ensure the Company fulfils the delivery aspects of its Customer Promise.
Create and maintain specifications for manufacture.
Manage the data in our relevant systems to enable effective MRP, review systems for continuous improvement.
Manage jobs in our ERP system, taking end-to-end responsibility for the management of jobs from a planning perspective.
Troubleshoot issues.
Analyse operational data and recommend improved utilization of resources.
Design reports and provide data to facilitate the review and improvement cycles of production processes.
In conjunction with QA, develop systems and processes to enhance production efficiency.
Lead PDCA cycle for inventory management.
To be the perfect fit for this role you will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
3-5 years' previous experience in a planning/supply chain/operations or engineering role, with hands-on development of IT systems and processes, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience of scheduling and/or production planning to ensure customer orders are met on time, whilst making optimum use of resources including utilization of staff/plant/equipment/space/raw materials and minimizing inventory costs.
Understanding of manufacturing knowledge systems.
IT expertise (Crystal and Jet reports, SQL query, basic code, ability to present data in Excel or Power BI).
Understanding of quality systems and ISO 9001/14001 desirable.
