We select our people as carefully as we select our beans – only the best, most exceptional character profiles, outstanding examples of their kind.What's the opportunity?Some big things are happening at Flight, and we're after a Production Manager to lead and elevate our roasting program, which is the backbone of our business.
This role is essential in driving plant efficiencies, meeting production targets, and leading a high-performing team in a growing business.As our Production Manager, you'll be responsible for:Leadership: Lead a positive change culture within the team, continuously improving the work environment and driving team output.
You'll develop, mentor, and supervise production and dispatch staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.Production Management: Manage production resources to meet customer schedules efficiently and cost-effectively.
You'll be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, stock management, and ensuring the timely delivery of orders.Packing Supervision: Organise and oversee the packing and dispatching of orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
You'll manage stock control, process orders, and communicate effectively with the dispatch team.Quality & Audits: Manage the quality control process for all green and roasted coffee, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
You'll work closely with the roaster to maintain and improve production quality standards.Equipment & Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of all production equipment, ensuring machinery functions properly and meets safety standards.OH&S: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety across the warehouse and roastery.
You'll promote a safety-first culture, provide necessary training, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.Who are we looking for?We require an experienced production professional with a minimum of 3 years in a food production environment, preferably in coffee or similar manufacturing.
You should have a proven history of implementing continuous improvement initiatives, a strong ability to lead and motivate teams, and a deep understanding of quality control and lean manufacturing principles.Strong leadership and team management skills;High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Competence in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems;A forklift license (preferred but not essential).What we're offering:This opportunity gives you the chance to join a tight-knit team and a growing business where your opportunities for growth and development are uncapped.
