What will you be doing?This is a key position that has a strong focus on team management, production planning, coordination, and administration duties to assist with ensuring optimal productivity is achieved in the sawmill.Working closely with the Site Manager and Department Managers, responsibilities are varied and will include:Team Management and development of an energised team of 20 staff (approx.)Develop and implement effective production schedules for the sawmill enabling an efficient workflowDevelop Production Plans / Cut Plans and forecast in conjunction with the Site ManagerManage log supply volumes for the department, including quality reports to suppliers and undertake purchasing of stock/consumablesMaintain a safe and organised work environment, including leading hazard and risk assessments, H&S meetings and reporting and maintaining SOP'sAct as the key link between operational and engineering teams for all maintenance requirementsThis department manager role is based at the Kiwi Lumber Sawmill in Gisborne.What skills are we seeking?This is an exciting opportunity for a natural leader and or experienced manager with strong planning and organisational skills along with passion to support drive a team to success.
