Production, Planning & Scheduling (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Viking Ironcraft , a leader in metal fabrication, is seeking a dynamic Production Manager to lead their manufacturing process. The role: As the Production Manager, you'll oversee and coordinate the entire manufacturing process, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and to the required standards. You'll manage production from job handover to site assembly, working closely with the design, sales, and workshop teams. Key responsibilities: Production oversight: Ensure monthly work forecasts provided by the General Manager are met, coordinating schedules and resources. Job handover management: Manage jobs from sales handover, overseeing production through the laser shop, press shop, fabrication shop, and site assembly. Team collaboration: Work closely with the workshop foreman to ensure smooth job progression and effective communication. Purchasing and inventory management: Manage stock and materials for each job, ensuring timely procurement. People management and leadership: Lead the production team with clear communication, fostering motivation and engagement. About you: Strong communication skills, able to motivate and lead a diverse team. Skilled in connecting resources, timelines, and requirements to ensure smooth workflow. Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on leadership style. Experience in manufacturing and engineering, ideally in metal fabrication, sheet metal, structural steel, or site erection. Ideally able to start before year-end to hit the ground running in 2025. Must be a NZ Citizen or Resident. Proven ability to manage teams across design, production, and fabrication environments. Familiarity with Work Flow Max or similar management systems (advantageous). This is a highly varied role, working with a team with excellent staff retention. You'll receive support from the General Manager and Director, working alongside an established, motivated team.
